Is Your Social Media Feed Boring?

Nearly everyone has at least one social media account. Teens, adults, and seniors get (and give) information via online platforms daily. However, it isn’t just people who are putting out information and opinions – businesses are doing the same. Small businesses no longer have to rely on print media to get their message to the masses; a strong social media account will bring plenty of potential customers to your virtual doorstep.

But only if your social media feed is engaging and lively. Boring feeds will not bring in the customers.

Is Your Feed Boring?

When is the last time you reviewed your social media feed and plan? Platform algorithms change and shift all the time, which can negatively affect your reader engagement and views. However, one thing is certain – if your feed is interesting, relevant, entertaining, and consistent, you are more likely to have a reader hit that “share” or “like” button.

Your feed should feature your business and services, certainly. Post your latest blog link, a change in your business hours, or photos of your staff appreciation lunch. This is all great content that shows your customers who and what you are. However, you should also keep your posts fun and relevant as well.

Show Some Personality

Your business has a culture and personality online. Social media is a wonderful place to show it off. Post a funny (but appropriate) image about looking forward to the weekend, or share a viral video that everyone seems to be talking about.

You can also use your social media feed to introduce members of your team. Show off someone each week and include their photos, along with their answers to a few standard questions. You can do the same with customer reviews!

Don’t Forget to Tag Partners

Social media is also a great way to connect with business partners and share audiences. If you have a meeting with another business, share it on your feed and tag your partner’s social site as well. This cross-marketing effort will benefit you both, and keep your feed more interesting.
