Web Design

The Importance of Website Design and the User Interface

If you want your website to garner interest and to continue bringing in visitors, you have to think about the overall design. If you have a poorly designed website, either from an aesthetic point of view or from the way the user interface works, you need to change things.

Branding

One of the jobs that your website needs to do is help brand your company. This means you need to have a cohesive look across your web pages. You need to have your logo, your colors, font, and your overall message be the same. Properly branded websites and blogs will start to stand out in the mind of the visitors. They will remember your company.

SEO-Friendly

The design of the site also needs to be SEO-friendly. This means that the website needs to be made so that Google and other search engines can “crawl” the pages on the site, interpret the content, and index it in their database. When your site is SEO-friendly, it will have a better chance of ranking well on the search engine results pages. This is essential if you want to bring in more visitors to your site.

Remember Mobile

We’re not in an age were designing a site that will look great and work well on a mobile device is a necessity, not an afterthought. Think about all of the times that you have looked up something on your phone rather than your computer. This is what many people are doing today, so you need to be sure your site is ready to serve them.

The User Interface

The user interface is essentially the part of the site that the visitor views and interacts with. This includes all of the features, buttons, etc. on the site. Naturally, you need to be sure that all of these elements work correctly. However, they also need to make sense and be aesthetically pleasing to the user. You don’t want the UI to be overcrowded or confusing. It needs to work well regardless of the type of device someone is using to visit your website, too.

For many companies, getting a good website design and a workable user interface can be difficult. Those businesses have their unique specialties, and design and UI aren’t part of that specialty. Therefore, it’s a good idea to work with a company that can provide these types of services.
